CUPE PSW Survey on HSCPOA

CUPE is concerned about the lack of due-process protections for Personal Support Workers (PSWs) in disciplinary matters, particularly their exclusion from the Discipline and Appeals Committees. Regulation 212/24 prohibits current and former registrants from serving on these committees Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority Act, 2021. (HSCPOA)

This CUPE survey collects information about PSW working conditions, staffing levels, and awareness of the PSW Registry. Participation is voluntary and confidential. Responses will not be shared with employers and will be used to support CUPE advocacy and member representation.

HSCPOA denies PSWs the same rights as regulatory bodies for other health care professionals:

  • No say in determining feel
  • Lack of due process
  • No representation on the HSCPOA board
  • No right to appeal disciplinary decision
